Co-founder and CTO
Manavalan is co-founder and CTO at Tsecond Inc. where he leads technology strategy, product architecture, and engineering.
With 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Manavalan has architected, led, and delivered the main products of several startups including Schooner Information Technology, which was acquired by Sandisk, and Airespace, which was acquired by Cisco in the domain of scalable file system, object storage, database, NoSQL, key-value stores and data processing.
At Sandisk, he architected and led the development of two products, Infiniflash IF500, a scale-out high-performance all-flash storage system and ZetaScale, a high-performance object-store from concept to successful customer deployments.
Before Sandisk, he was with Schooner Information Technology where he led the development of two products, Activer cluster, a high-performance database system, and Membrain, a high-performance NoSQL datastore from concept to successful customer deployments.
Before Schooner, he was with A La Mobile where he architected and led the development of the company’s main product, a mobile operating system for advanced mobile devices from concept to GA.
At Airespace, he architected and led the development of a high throughput network data forwarding engine for the wireless controller platform that provided a significant competitive edge to the product.
Manavalan is passionate about architecting and designing highly scalable data storage and data processing systems and passionate about building high-performance engineering teams.
He holds 15 patents in the areas of distributed data storage systems and a Masters of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, India.
