About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and technically strong Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales) who can act as a bridge between our product, engineering, and customer teams. This role is critical to articulating the technical value of our solutions—including servers, storage platforms, operating systems, and AI/Big Data workflows—to prospective customers.
This role involves extensive travel across India and occasionally international locations, supporting product demos, proof-of-concepts, and solution architecture.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and craft tailored technical solutions
- Deliver product presentations, whiteboarding sessions, and live demonstrations to enterprise and government clients
- Conduct pre-sales architecture design for server/storage systems, AI/ML pipelines, and edge deployments
- Lead proof-of-concept deployments and technical workshops at customer sites
- Provide technical responses to RFPs, RFIs, and security/compliance documentation
- Assist customers with integration planning, including OS, containerization, and workload compatibility
- Maintain feedback loops with product and engineering teams for customer needs and solution improvements
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in Big Data and AI infrastructure
Skills
- 10+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting
- Hands-on knowledge of Enterprise Storage technologies, NAS/SAN/Object Storage, Distributed storage.
- Hands-on knowledge of Server, Storage, Networking technologies
- Strong understanding of AI/ML pipelines, Big Data workflows, and GPU-based systems
- Strong system integration knowledge with Storage and AI products with applications and infrastructure in terms of software as well as hardware.
- Experience working with OS platforms: Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, Windows Server, Mac
- Familiarity with virtualization, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration tools
- Strong communication, client-facing, and presentation skills
- Creating high-level architecture diagrams, sizing, and BoMs (Bill of Materials).
- Cost-benefit analysis and TCO/ROI
- Ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Writing technical proposals and presales documentation.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 40–50%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting GovTech, defense, or enterprise IT infrastructure clients
- Knowledge of data compliance and security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, FIPS)
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Linux, or enterprise storage
- Experience working in high-growth startups or cross-functional tech teams
